03/05/2010 - Drilled the centre and aft fuselage

Big day today.  In the garage for 7am !! I want to get plenty done.

First up drilling the longerons.  As the instructions say cleco every hole, start from the rear and work forwards.  Its a lot of holes as well !!  Anyway right side first...

Arm rests fluted and drilled.  Centre section outermost rib drilled.  Drill where the centre section meets the aft fuselage and continue down the sides.  In other words every where you can drill, get it done.

Fabricated the attach straps as shown below and drilled them

Lunch !  then I have to do the other side, and my knees are getting sore !

Its getting near the end of the day,  but I had just enough time to bend the angle into the longerons to hold the firewall.  Yes, yes I know I am supposed to have done this when I originally bent them.  Decent clamp and clecos and away we went.  The picture shows the bend it puts in and the shape the skin forms ... chuffed.

I have run out of clecos :-( - Next up I will be working on the forward fuselage section
